Working overseas has been memorable and wonderful. I have taken every opportunity to enjoy all the incredible experiences I have been exposed to. Throughout this time, the one commonality that I have discovered over the years, as it has developed, is the importance and use of Technology in the classroom. Through this electronic portfolio I hope to show and demonstrate my professional understandings, my ideas and aspirations for the future. I will illustrate this through discussion and examples from my teachings and varied experiences internationally. I hope you enjoy!
Here are a couple of examples of how I have integrated technology into the classroom:
The first exemplar is specifically of a project that I wanted my students to submit for an Anti-Bullying campaign at my school. The parameters were such, especially with child protection and safety in mind, that students needed to make sure that none of their identities were given or pictures that would show their identities were used. This lead to the discussion to come up with a message and then how we could facilitate this idea. From that came forth the suitable use of and pieces of technology we needed to help us make this a reality. It was a great group effort and the message was used to demonstrate to students a simple message. The following link will take you to the short video. Click here.
The next exemplar is how I have created a class website to enable students to have access to the course whenever and wherever they are. This is designed to make the course more accessible to the student in all aspects. Deadlines, assignments, rubrics, the different Standards we use for grading, expectations and exemplars of the current unit's sport are there as well, all to make the course expectations clear and succinct.
